One of my pet peeves about SCIENCE is how the left pretends that their science is the basis for their conclusions. The reality is the same type of people who will cheat at elections and lie about it have no problem corrupting data and then drawing SCIENCE conclusions that are supposed to then stop all rational debate. If someone wants the raw data, they are refused. Happened with the East Anglia faked hockey stick on global warming. Early in the spring of 2020 there was good anecdotal evidence of early treatment of covid with antibiotics, ivermectin and a steroid. The government bureaucratic response was to treat people on ventilators with just ivermectin and then conclude that the combination early treatment program wasn't effective and then worked to get ivermectin banned for off label use by doctors and pharmacies. Killed hundreds of thousands in the name of science with the new recommendation to take tylenol until you needed a death ventilator.

In the face of overwhelming evidence that common sense would conclude that "trans" individuals are not mentally healthy, the world's medical bureaucracy adopted "early treatment" methodologies, otherwise know as sexually mutilating children to fix them. "Do no harm" was just tossed overboard.

    https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2023/06/sex-change-operations-do-no-good.php

SEX CHANGE OPERATIONS DO NO GOOD
The “trans” lobby claims that genital mutilation of minors is necessary in order to prevent troubled teenagers from committing suicide. To my knowledge, there is no empirical basis for this claim, and suicide rates among those who have undergone sex change surgery are sky-high. But the claim persists, nevertheless.

Now, it turns out that one of the key “studies” relied on to support sex change procedures has been withdrawn. Public Discourse reports:

A major correction has been issued by the American Journal of Psychiatry. The authors and editors of an October 2019 study, titled “Reduction in mental health treatment utilization among transgender individuals after gender-affirming surgeries: a total population study,” have retracted its primary conclusion. Letters to the editor by twelve authors, including ourselves, led to a reanalysis of the data and a corrected conclusion stating that in fact the data showed no improvement after surgical treatment.

Integrity in published research has been on a downhill slide for some time. It started in the social sciences, and has now spread to the hard sciences. The basic idea of a research study is to be reproducible: someone else who tries the same experiment should get more or less the same result. But in recent years, a combination of hunger for headline-making publications and pursuit of political agendas has given rise to countless allegedly peer-reviewed studies that turned out to be utterly bogus:

It has been an open secret for some time that there is a crisis of irreproducibility of scientific studies in medicine and other fields. No less a figure than the Director of the NIH, Dr. Francis Collins, wrote that, “the checks and balances that once ensured scientific fidelity have been hobbled. This has compromised the ability of today’s researchers to reproduce others’ findings.” For example, the National Association of Scholars reports, “In 2012 the biotechnology firm Amgen tried to reproduce 53 ‘landmark’ studies in hematology and oncology, but could only replicate 6 (11%).” In 2015 an article was published in Science in which there was an attempt to replicate 100 studies from three well-known psychology journals in 2008. In the original studies, nearly all had produced statistically significant results, whereas in the study replications, only a little over a third produced similar significant results.

There is no benign explanation for these phenomena. The linked article goes on to explain in detail the mostly obvious, and likely intentional, flaws in the pro-trans surgery study that has now been withdrawn. The authors contrast that discredited study’s findings with a more robust piece of research:

We concluded our letter by comparing this study to the one we consider perhaps the best of its kind, also from Sweden, the 2011 Dhejne study. The Dhejne team made extensive use of numerous, specified Swedish registries and examined data from 324 patients in Sweden over thirty years who underwent sex reassignment. They used population controls matched by birth year, birth sex, and reassigned sex. When followed out beyond ten years, the sex-reassigned group had nineteen times the rate of completed suicides and nearly three times the rate of all-cause mortality and inpatient psychiatric care, compared to the general population.

Nineteen times the normal suicide rate. Contemplate that. The claim that sex change surgeries are somehow saving lives is a fantasy. That genital mutilation destroys lives is an undeniable fact.

Transism is a mental disorder news of the day! No worries the pedos' are marching off the list of mental illnesses too!

On the continual theme of phucked up SCIENCE. The complete failure of the US and international medical bureaucracies.

Study Falsely Linking Hydroxychloroquine To Increased Deaths Frequently Cited Even After Retraction

    BY TYLER DURDEN
    SATURDAY, JUN 03, 2023 - 02:30 PM
Authored by Jessie Zhang via Thje Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

An Australian and Swedish investigation has found that among the hundreds of COVID-19 research papers that have been withdrawn, a retracted study linking the drug hydroxychloroquine to increased mortality was the most cited paper.

With 1,360 citations at the time of data extraction, researchers in the field were still referring to the paper “Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without a macrolide for treatment of COVID-19: a multinational registry analysis” long after it was retracted.

Authors of the analysis involving the University of Wollongong, Linköping University, and Western Sydney Local Health District wrote (pdf) that “most researchers who cite retracted research do not identify that the paper is retracted, even when submitting long after the paper has been withdrawn.”

“This has serious implications for the reliability of published research and the academic literature, which need to be addressed,” they said.

“Retraction is the final safeguard against academic error and misconduct, and thus a cornerstone of the entire process of knowledge generation.”

    Scientists Question Findings
Over 100 medical professionals wrote an open letter, raising ten major issues with the paper.

These included the fact that there was “no ethics review” and “unusually small reported variances in baseline variables, interventions and outcomes,” as well as “no mention of the countries or hospitals that contributed to the data source and no acknowledgments to their contributions.”

Other concerns were that the average daily doses of hydroxychloroquine were higher than the FDA-recommended amounts, which would present skewed results.

They also found that the data that was reportedly from Australian patients did not seem to match data from the Australian government.

Eventually, the study led the World Health Organization to temporarily suspend the trial of hydroxychloroquine on COVID-19 patients and to the UK regulatory body, MHRA, requesting the temporary pause of recruitment into all hydroxychloroquine trials in the UK.

France also changed its national recommendation of the drug in COVID-19 treatments and halted all trials.

Currently, a total of 337 research papers on COVID-19 have been retracted, according to Retraction Watch.

Further retractions are expected as the investigation of proceeds.

American Values First - Seems like we have been there spent a couple of trillion and it didn't work. So, what's $12 million more poured into the dumpster fire?

GREAT MOMENTS IN OUTREACH: Biden’s State Department Launches Multimillion Dollar Push To Fight Climate Change, Teach Gender Studies in Iraq.

The Biden administration is prepared to shell out up to $12 million to teach Iraqis how to fight climate change and appreciate “gender diversity,” an effort it says will help strengthen democracy in the Middle Eastern nation.

President Joe Biden’s State Department on May 15 posted a grant solicitation offering three universities in Iraq up to $4 million each to develop programs to help fight climate change and advance gender equity. Recipients must develop “fields of study, course offerings, and/or majors” centered on “gender issues” and “the adaptation to and mitigation of the impacts of climate change,” the grant offering shows. Additionally, the State Department wants Iraqi universities to develop recruitment programs for students who will work toward advancing “greenhouse gas reduction” and “other areas of study related to climate change.”

Programs approved for funding must also have “progressive curricula” and “strengthen the diversity of the student body of American-style Iraqi institutions of higher education.”

    Sounds like a great idea.

I'm sure it'll be embraced and welcomed, just like Democracy.

Was charging my car at a Target in San Jose near the airport yesterday, walked into the Target and noticed quickly I was surrounded by the dregs of society. It was dirty, nasty and filled with shitbirds. Dude was camping out in the filthy bathroom, children's Pride display was front and center. Went back to the car with the wife and witnessed a young black man get out of the back seat of a car with a tranny after engaging in who knows what. They couldn't get their tongues out of each other's mouths and were literally lapping, licking each other like dogs. FYFMFE we? are living in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Defund the police and empty the jails working out just like BLM, the citizens of Chicago and our Tug dems want - more dead blacks and more crime. Nothing like unarmed "Peacekeepers" to put criminals in jail.

Another 52 Shot, 10 Murdered In Chicago This Weekend

    BY TYLER DURDEN
    MONDAY, JUN 05, 2023 - 07:10 AM
Authored by Ted Dabrowski and John Klingner via Wirepoints.org,

How long will Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson stick with his “violence as a symptom of disinvestment” explanation that was widely criticized?

His comments came last weekend after 12 Chicagoans were murdered and 53 shot.

Memorial Day weekend was a big test for the new mayor, whose investment in yellow-vest “Peacekeepers” and anti-violence programs failed to stem the bloodshed.

That weekend was bad enough, but now he’s got another weekend of 10 murdered and 52 shot (as of 5pm Sunday).

    From ABC7:

A shooting in Austin Sunday left one person dead and six others wounded. A 25-year-old woman was killed in the shooting.

Minutes earlier, a 34-year-old man was fatally shot and another was wounded downtown, police said.

Hours later, another 30-year-old man was shot to death and a woman was wounded in Little Italy.

A 40-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday night in front of a home in Chatham.

Over an hour earlier, a 19-year-old man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting in Humboldt Park.

A 70-year-old man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Saturday morning in Englewood on the South Side.

Hours earlier, a 31-year-old man was fatally shot in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

Just under three hours earlier, a 32-year-old man was shot and killed in North Lawndale.

About two hours before that, a 23-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the Austin neighborhood.

[Additionally, as Thomas Lifson reports, in video leaked to CWB Chicago, we see how much worse matters have become, with 2 machine gun-armed men caught on video firing at unseen targets, killing a child, and injuring at least 3 others.

To make matters much worse, when police arrived to investigate, a 16-year-old boy fired shots at the officers, thankfully missing them.]

BINGO! Anyone who would create a fake dossier about fake Russian Collusion then make up stories about Alpha Bank back-door servers in order to throw an election in 2016 would certainly do even more to cheat and win in 2020.

Such as, for example, those 26 Million new voters that suddenly surfaced in 2020 without any news source anywhere expressing surprise (at least) or offering an explanation as to how the numbers got so big so fast, by historical comparisons. Not one MSM outlet even covered the 26 Million new voters Bubble in 2020
