I had no doubt that my son and daughter were hetero. Like me and my wife, on the hard side of hetero. We were pretty frank about gays, even when they were in elementary school. My daughter was a top three sport athlete, soccer, basketball and softball. It's a little known fact that women sports attract lesbians. We were at some event and won a door prize for front row seats to the women's WNBA team opener for the Portland Fire. My wife took my 12 year old daughter. When they got back, I asked her if she had a good time. Her response, "Dad, there were lesbians everywhere." Going to a gay bar wasn't going to switch my son or daughter.
My concern is to the messed up kids in the middle with bad parenting at home. If you are born gay, let it play out through at least age 10 or 11. It's okay to be gay. It's not okay to groom vulnerable kids that being female or male is a choice and that choice should be gay or trans.
