The bureaucratic incompetence of our alleged intellectual elites is breathtaking. "No one anticipated ..." Yeah, unanticipated if you are an ignorant moron. However, in most cases, the shutdowns were to benefit the public teacher unions, social media, and big business. They never ever really tried to justify the lockdowns or just lied about them. You could buy clothes at Target, but not at a locally owned specialty clothing shop. You could buy a shovel at Home Depot but not at a Mom and Pop family owned hardware store. No fishing. Wear a mask while running the 1500 meter race outside. Geezus.
