    I liked Pete at USC. I always loved how pumped up he gets. He has a rare ability to be how he is, but it's not corny. I don't think many could pull it off.
    The only reason it's not corny is because that's who he is. If Mora, Peterman, Saban, or any other serious coach tried to be rah rah like that, it would be corny as shit because it would be disingenuous. There's more to Pete than rah rah, however. That guy is slick as can be and pushes the boundaries wherever he can. He may be super upbeat, but he's a cold blooded killer and wants to win at all costs.

    I think that is what most of us hated most about Sark is he was so corny and not real. One game he'd act like a super hard coach and the other act like Pete.

    That's Sarks biggest flaw as a coach is he doesn't know who he is. One year he is running the 4-3 defense, the other 3-4. One year he is saying his pro style offense will stand the test of time then the next goes full spread to a hurry up offense. He is a coach completely in over his head which we've been saying this whole time.

    Watching him crash and burn at USC is going to be awesome to watch from a distance.

    Harbaugh definitely isn't in the Sandusky, Darren Sharper (too soon?), Rae Carruth mold. Definitely wasn't suggesting he was ... it's a whole different level of scum for them.

    There's definitely a bit of us against the world from Harbaugh. Perhaps I'm being slightly too harsh on him ... he just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that I'd want anything to do with.

    In contrast, I've never hated Petey ... even when he was at SC. He's got some of his flaws and if you are on the other side of it, Petey's pom pom's could definitely be annoying. But I've never got the impression from him that he doesn't care about his players and puts himself above them. He's very quick to give praise, even to the other team (which Harbaugh will never do).

    That being said, I've never suggested that Harbaugh isn't a good coach. What he has done at Stanford and at San Francisco has been top notch. Stanford is starting to slip back a bit under David Shaw (which I predicted they would). They are still good as their upperclassmen last year were still from Harbaugh's classes. There's a huge gap between Shaw and Harbaugh. Same deal with Helfrich and The Chipster.

    Harbaugh gave the Seahawks credit after the NFC Championship game. I agree that Harbaugh is an enormous douchebag, but you're pressing to find reasons to hate him. He wouldn't be my first choice, but there is a LONG list of coaches I'd choose him over.

    There were some extremely interesting articles that came out about him during this season. One of them was about how he would go deep into the ghetto to recruit players to USC. Can you imagine Sarkingham having the balls to drag his fat ass away from his house boat or whatever palace he lives in now to do that? Guy has huge balls and it shows on the field.
