All the best players are always "injured". Nothing like watching a double header of the Nets backups playing the Sixers backups followed by the second team for the Lakers taking on the Clippers without Kawhi and George. Hard pass. I'd rather listen to Elise Woodward butcher a Husky softball game on the corpse of the P12 Network. I might tune in for the playoffs when all these legends will miraculously be nurtured back to health.

Lakers v Clippers for the right to face the Nets

    Nothing else matters

Definitely helps the chances of getting the Sonics back. Either they get desperate for cash and need an expansion team or they do the smart thing and move a team no one cares about to Seattle to boost ratings without diluting the league

That's the exact problem with the league. It has always been top-heavy, but at least there were 4-5 teams in the West who all had an equal chance at earning the right to lose to Jordan. Rosters are way too imbalanced now, and the nature of the sport with small roster sizes and one player being able to significantly swing a team's odds makes it way too predictable. There is zero reason to watch the NBA until the conference finals this year.

Expansion is coming sooner than later to recoup funds for existing owners

Until they disconnect social justice from the NBA, they can fuck the fuck off. Haven't watched a game in years. Don't plan to start.

NBA marketing is schizo, to me. Their athletes are 75% black, inner-city kids who it is safe to assume are 90% liberal. The owners (think) have to cater to them to keep them happy (personally I think the players would STFU and take the cash if the owners held their ground). Problem is that within the general public there is a much broader spectrum that they have to market their product to. Personally, I don't think there are enough woke socialists out there to keep the NBA afloat. Especiallky since those kinds of people tend to hate rich people.

This is something that the NFL has mostly figured out, even with some of the placating they did last year.

Just saw that today is the anniversary of MJ going for 63 in the first round against the Celtics.

In 2021 we are still somewhere in this endless regular season. Other than the NFL all sports are suffering. I've liked the NBA forever. It would be hard to kill me off for off court stuff because I just don't care that much. Everyone has an opinion

Its the on court that is causing the issues IMO. Utah and Phoenix are leading the west I think and everyone knows that they aren't winning shit come playoffs

Why not both? Some people are turned off by the product. Others might be tired of the NBA brand and marketing being built around hip hop and woke culture. Both have turned me off, but I would be much more likely to watch games if I didn't have to listen to social issues commentary and hear opinions from mostly 20-somethings who are largely stupid.

I agree the off court stuff has an effect. Just not on me since I record everything anyway and just zip through the noise

I watched Wilt play Russell on the old black and white TV after church on Sunday. Loved the Sonics when they were born because I was a kid and they were pro sports in Seattle. Along with our DAWGS

With me it is an all but unbreakable bond and the NBA doesn't know that I still exist

I don't think it has been the same since Jordan left the second time. Too much roll ball and one and one assholes *cough* Kobe *cough* and way too much social justice snowflake buzz

It seemed like it was improving ca. 2011 to 2015. The playoffs were alright and it resembled normal basketball, not this perimeter, soft crap with soft fours and fives.

I'll watch the Suns or occasionally the BSPN game if nothing else is on, but it's usually background noise. They stole the Sonics, and Seattle sucks now anyway.

I don't have a big problem with most of the NBA's social justice stuff (outside of the China hypocrisy) but this is fucked up.

    Not my GOAT.

This is the part of the season where teams are resting their best players for the playoff. It's a compacted season so more guys are sitting out.

They should have made the season much shorter than this obviously, and now we're all just waiting for the playoffs.

Except for Bloozers of course who are living in fear of missing it altogether.
