Better this way because he will get drafted higher, make more money, get opportunity to be developed anyways.
Rather than being drafted lower than he should have, make less money and have less negotiating leverage and still have to prove himself.
If he doesn't pan out at his first gig he could always make other general managers drool over his potential and his measurables and profit from that.
If he's drafted four rounds less than he'll just always be that sixth round guy...
