Hire the fucktard from Gonzaga.... It may be a Pete type hire
He's from Eugene, his parents still live in Eugene, and that built the nicest facility on the planet before asking him and he wasn't interested. Washington has zero chance.
Mark Few has set the tone for smart coaching. One thing matters in college basketball and that's it: tournaments. If you're the one good school in a dreck conference then you'll always be in the NCAA tourney. Kids don't give a fuck how nice your building is, they want to be in March Madness every year. Oregon and Washington aren't going to be a yearly participant ever.
Once you're a yearly figure in the NCAA tourney you get to choose whichever preseason tourney you are in which are huge hype machines that the kids love. Remember when Adam Morrison became a household name in Maui? Me too. Remember when Oregon or Washington had a player become a household name against Kentucky Baptist at home in front of one camera that isn't even plugged in?
Being the lone gorilla in your conference means you win your conference tourney every year too which instantly boosts your NCAA seeding.
Oh and Mark Few is a zillionaire from coaching at Gonzaga too. If he's leaving it will be to follow Brad Stevens to the NBA. Only a retard would leave his situation to go to another college.

This is fucking loser talk.
The quooks swore to us Petersen's dream job was UO, too.

This is real talk. Mark Few isn't leaving the best basketball program in Washington for the second best program in Washington. Oregon was the only program that made any sense as far as his roots, family, facilities, and the AD at the time being one of his best friends when he was offered.
Oregon may have been Peterman's dream job but he was never going to have a shot at getting it so that is a worthless talking point.
I happen to be a grad of both the UW and Gonzaga. Gonzaga's games are all sold out and the waiting list to get season tickets is super long. You can't get a seat unless you get very lucky with a season ticket holder. Few will not make the same mistake Don Munson did. He left for Minnesota and screwed up his career.

I like to say Mark Few is a good coach by using tournaments to judge his success.

Good christ! First this guy says this years Blazers team is better than the 1996 Sonics and now he is spewing bullshit about Oregon basketball?
Fuck go to eDuck and Quook it up over there. This forum is for half brain Ducks not Quooks.
Washington should move to the Big Sky. Automatic tourney every year. Should really raise the profile. Do it in football too where they have a REAL playoff. Then we can win a true Natty and pop off.
There is a huge difference between Few and Peterman and that is that there is no talent/recruiting gap between Gonzaga and most of college basketball like there is between BSU and BCS football. Few has had several top 25. recruiting classes while at Gonzaga and is, thus, playing with higher talent than a traditional "mid-major". Peterman was winning with recruiting classes ranked in the 70s

Petersen took Boise further than any of the coaches before him. Few has still yet to match Monson's success despite having nearly a decade and a half.
Sure he'd be better than Romar, but that should not be the standard.
