Having spent decades on college campuses in athletic departments, this is A. not surprising, and 2. disgusting. In my first several years, had more than my share of opportunities to partake, and declined all of them. Doesn't mean I wasn't tempted, (don't twist), but as my daughters got to college age, it became very clear that I made the right choice. He made his own bed (hardy-har), and several careers are now in serious jeopardy because an old, married, fat rich guy is a horn dog. Fuck the HAT, and don't use your school-issued phone to hook up with an escort (Hi Hugh Freeze!)...It just means "more" in the SEC...

I never quite understood why LSU was so quick to let him go. Now it becomes more clear.

He wasn’t winning so that is why he got canned. If he was winning this would not matter. It doesn’t matter for Ogeron until he has another crappy season or two. Then morality will prevail. The script.

He finished 3rd 4th and 3rd in consecutive years in his division and was fired mid-season after a loss to unranked auburn. Some places just have higher expectations whether they were realistic or not.
It’s not like he was a hot name after getting canned either. He campaigned hard for the Houston job and didn’t get it. Eventually landed the worst p5 job and didn’t exactly do much with it yet.
At one time he was a good coach, then other schools leveled up their staffs and they didn’t have much success in the sec

Yes, I understand that his last three years weren't stellar. But 114-34 and a national championship is 114-34 and a national championship. Anyone in America, save for Bama, would give their left arm for a 12-year run like that.

LOL, possibly... Or, they knew that they had a ticking time bomb with the hidden scandal and when the subpar W-L record dipped for a couple years they saw it as a chance to move on without having a fan mutiny.
Ticking time bomb indeed...when something like this gets out, heads will roll, and in 2021, the more heads the better. When the shit went down at Penn State, my boss met with the head coaches and basically said if something happened like this (hard to compare ANYTHING to Sandusky / Joe, but still), it was gonna be "FY, FM, FE"...ADs who are on top of the shit, catch it early, act decisively, still get fucked because "How could you hire someone like this and not know?"...

Pretty clear trend there. You have to read the trend and act before it takes your program to a place you don’t want to go.

That type of mindset can get you a title about once every 5 or 6 years at LSU. Works for me. It just means more.
I think miles was a good if not great coach at one time. Kind of like Mack brown at Texas. He lost his way and effectiveness. Winning a title with Ed ogeron as your head coach is truly impressive. They can have whatever expectations they want. USC could learn something from them.
