Texas electrical grid almost failed this morning...will be interesting if it can hold Monday when it’s supposed to be the worst. Not a whole lot of wind generation right now...

Spot prices of natural gas holding steady at $100+ /mmbtu.

Just drove from Deception Pass to Seattle.

    It’s a snowstorm. Nothing special.

08 was the worst snow/ice storm I can remember. I was living in Vancouver for that one.

In Troutdale these days and this has been a solid contender so far. Its tough to know exactly how much we've got cus its so windy that its mostly a series of large snow drifts. I'm gonna be conservative with this, but I'd say there's no less than a foot of snow here. Theres a pile outside my front door thats 4ft tall with ease.

84 is shut down from my exit east and it sounds like most everything south and west of us got heavy freezing rain last night. Haven't lost power either which I'm pleasantly surprised about.

South Houston is supposed to get down to 14 degrees Monday...some of the lowest temps since the 1800s.

    Global warming and all...

It’s climate change now. Get with the times. Their global warming shtick got debunked, so they had to morph the bullshit.

47 degrees near the coast today. Snow melting fast.

I did screw up and forgot to take a shade cloth down from the pond. Will be rebuilding that as it was designed for wind loads not snow loads. oops.

If this melts fast theres gonna be some major flooding. I'm 100 yards off the Sandy, quarter mile from the mouth.

Should be a slow melt locally but if the mountains have 70 degree days in March or April it could be 1996 all over again.
