I just skimmed through the tables and ignored most of the block text analysis. It could certainly use an extract/TL;DR. The comments by other people are a bit more helpful, I think.
UW hasn't had an imposing middle backer in 2 decades
We've had at least a couple imposing inside linebackers in that time...but perhaps they weren't playing "middle" linebacker? Donald Butler and Azeem Victor are the two who immediately come to mind.

Butler was a big, fast, imposing MLB. At times he was the defense, just like Cooper before him and Foster after. Butler played MIKE, Cooper played WIL, and Foster mostly SAM, but all three were the best player on the team at their peak.
