If anyone is curious how far back you have to go for Washington to have more wins than Oregon it’s 1977.
No Natty
It’s kind of funny - some people thought the four team playoff was going to make it more likely to get a natty because a deserving team wouldn’t be left out. Instead it made it so you have to beat not one but two of Ohio State/Clemson/Bama/SEC team on upswing.
Makes it an impossible task unless you get a rare QB, great coaching, and - most importantly - the recruiting to field a stacked and deep roster. It created a barrier that is nearly insurmountable. USC can if they ever get a good coach, Oregon is giving it a Hail Mary with recruiting, but that’s it for anything west of Texas. I’m a bit jealous, Washington got a legitimate half of one before that happened, and Oregon can’t get that anymore. It’s probably not satisfying when the average football fan has no idea that Washington has even half of one, like Minnesota and all of theirs, but it’s still something.

But Oregon to be fair, had two shots in the last 10 years
You never say never

Just what I’m hearing, don’t twist.
