A Washington State trooper was killed in an avalanche in Kittitas county while snowmobiling yesterday. It's not a safe time to be in the high country around here right now.

Apparently this has been the deadliest week of avalanches in the US since Stevens Pass in 1910. Shout out to @Swaye for the Great Northern Railway.

I visited the Great Northern Railway site when I was a kid. I brought home a small piece of the train (or a train).

I visited the Great Northern Railway site when I was a kid. I brought home a small piece of the train (or a train).

I always wanted to go hike up that trail.

People forget that after the disaster they change the name of the town from Wellington to Tye Washington.
