It doesn't surprise me, I don't think he has "ran" the company in a long time. It just stinks that Jassy will be the new CEO instead of Wilke.

Seems he’s been focusing more on his news companies than anything else lately. Still, a surprise exit.

He will still be with the company as Executive Chair. I think he wants to enjoy his money and not have to stress about being in charge of one of the biggest companies in the world. I'm shocked he didn't quit before. In the last 90s he tried to have another guy at CEO, but that didn't work out.

It'll be interesting to see how his successor does. Bezos is a cult of personality over there. Not infrequently the next guy doesn't have as good a run.

I would have cashed out long, long ago.

His brand jumped the shark a couple years ago with the leaked text.

What’s wrong with Jassy over Wilke?

Wilke was the driver and leader of that company. He is the one that made Amazon into what it is. Jassy talked about how he stepped in dog shit right before his interview at Amazon. Came across as a goof ball.

Is that from an interview or something? I hadn’t seen that.

I think Wilke is a great operator but not really a visionary leader. Just my two cents as someone observing from a distance with no real knowledge.

Jassy has more product experience as well... of course.
