The Lone Blue Chip

Just looked over The Seattle Time's list of 100 best in-state recruits for the state of Washington's class of 2014,...... and there's only one lonely Blue Chip all by himself at the top of the list. That would be Budda Baker of Bellevue, of course, because who could be rated higher even by expert media pretenders? Still, it's surprising that 4-star recruits Kaleb McGary (Tacoma OL) and Marcus Griffin (Bellevue DT) as well as 3-stars Deion Singleton (Pasco safety) and Isiah Brandt-Sims (Wenatchee RB) did not receive the Time's Blue Chip recognition. All are heavily recruited by big schools and highly regarded nationally at their positions.

I can't remember there ever being a single Blue Chip in-state recruit all by himself in any previous class, but I must admit I haven't in recent years been paying as close attention to recruiting as I used to. Is this rare Lone Blue Chip indicative of a lowly (0-12?) status of prep football in Washington state, or is it the reflection of a recruit rating cottage industry that's little better at picking the best than a doog's meat tasting committee? I think it must be the latter simply because it seems that more state of Washington kids are being recruited for football by more D1 schools than ever before.

Seattle's primary newspaper could do in-state prep football a service by being less parochial and a bit looser with the recruit ratings on it's annual Top-100 list. A few more Blue Chip selections where deserved couldn't hurt, but the media fucks at The Seattle Times will likely never be about community service at the expense of journalism, Walla Walla style. If they knew or really cared about selling their product,........ well, fuck-it anyway.

Petersen can't recruit at the pac12 level. I don't know that as a fact. It's just what I'm hearing. Some of you need to learn the difference.

My post wasn't about Petersen's recruiting acumen, but it doesn't matter what I posted in a nerd infested World.

the Seattle Times may be where all the very best Dawgman writers and evaluators migrated to when the bomb went off.

I guess I didn't notice Dawgman's best writers and evaluators, let alone very best. They all seemed shallow and plagiaristic to me, but I suppose that's what you mean.

Yes, there are issues here in Boise were all we have is the Idaho Statesman and USA Today,..... so forgive my provincialism of subscribing on-line for The Seattle Times Husky News and Jude's Blog. It's not much, but there's really nothing else newsworthy.

Thankfully, we don't have KJR over here. From listening to that fist-fucking sports-talk radio station while living for years in Seattle, I've come to despise all radio sports-jocks and TV talking-heads, including sideline stalking bitches. Can't wait for TV to start trashing baseball, basketball, and hockey with such non-traditional entertainment junk.

First comes the despicably obscene and talking-head sucking TV instant replay bullshit wasting our time and fun, then the sideline/bench stalking bitches to justify remote control mute buttons everywhere in the fucking universe. I sometimes think that all TV/radio sports producers-directors must be Kimberly's, but you sweatpants wearing nerds are welcome to your own.... opinion.

My total dislike of sports-talk radio is I think very similar to a reformed former smoker's intolerance for tobacco.

    Disagree.

I still miss and love Copenhagen even though I am a reformed Snuff spitter closing on a decade.
