Per Fetters, Jalen McMillan has had a really disappointing spring and was singled out by Lake after practice.
I'd be okay with Bynum, Rome, Polk starting. Jalen's still a true frosh, so he has time.
In terms of eligibility, yes. In terms of experience, no. Rome is the same class too.
The longer it takes a player to crack the two-deeps the more likely it is they never will. That is especially true at the skill positions.
Agreed. McMillan is arguably our best WR recruit since Reggie. Him not cracking the top 3 of an eviscerated position group by his soph year would be an ugly sign. The table is set for him and Rome to be the guys right now. If he can't capitalize on that then I have low expectations for his career.

But he did do that in the fall, passing Spiker and Osborne and pretty much everyone else to be the #4 WR. He's #4 again this year, with Polk replacing Jones. He's in the slot behind Bynum, who's arguably our best WR.

If that is the depth chart and he gets lots of snaps and a fair amount of targets then I would agree.
I am just going off the report of Jalen having a disappointing spring.
Otton should be our WR#1 from a production standpoint. He should be the priority and scare the fuck out of safeties/backers allowing our WRs 1 on 1 opportunities.
If we have some kind of shit 8-4 season it will b3 because Otton had under 500 yards receiving. Feed the dude.

I’m far from giving up on him, but he is soft. I would love some WR’s that could break some tackles and actually ran angry once they had the ball. Puka did. Hopefully Rome will be. McMillan seems like somewhat of a pussy that is a deep threat but not tough enough to make contested catches in the middle of the field.

Giles Jackson is also a slot receiver.
