Honestly, I doubt our defense will fall off a cliff under Gregory. He'll probably just run the exact same system we've been running and he's had pretty decent success as a DC before. Maybe the d-line guy ends up being decent too.
But if you're gonna go this route, you have to make another move. Fire Harris and/or Brown and spend some money on a big time db coach. Somewhere you need to make a big dick move
I can get behind this. We seem to have saved enough to make a big splash hire, one would think. Not counting on it though.
Not with the dire straits the AD is in. We hemmorhaged money in 2020 and these moves prove just how bad it's gotten. Bargain football. Learn it, live it, love it.
Taylor is good and always has been you fucks. Don't be surprised if he's the first Husky drafted.
Did he learn how to tackle yet? Also nobody mistimes their jumps or drops int’s better than Taylor.
That being said he was good besides that. Not being sarcastic. Just a weird player. But not very good at the things mentioned above. How do you play that many reps with no picks?
Very weird, I never remember being impressed by Taylor. Like even dudes like Littleton flashed and then backed it up but not recalling that with Taylor. As long as it makes the program look better...
Like him, but even in those clips you see why he lacks ball skills. Never really makes a great play on the ball unless it's to stick an arm out to deflect. Those plays where he's in position to make a play on it he doesn't get his feet under him and do it. Kind of drifts and then flails at the ball instead of getting his balance and attacking it. In terms of draft picks, I still think he goes after Molden, Levi, and Tryon.
It's almost like some of you think a corner has to make the highlight reel to be doing his job. If you know he's starting and playing most snaps yet you rarely hear his name then he's doing a good job.
Taylor is going to get paid to prevent completions, not make interceptions.

Dude going to love nfl complain about dude is in perfect coverage but still gives up a play
Taylor has a chance to be the guy in the same frame of the video as a NFL wideout makes another sensational grab.
It is a league of fractions. Don't really have a dog in this hunt since he died last Memorial Day nor do I watch the games that close anymore but Taylor actually did stand out to me as a guy that was always there to watch the play made in front of him.

Just my 2 cents
I noticed that too about him. But I wonder: If a corner is nearly always in perfect stride with his man, isn't just about every catch/throw completed his way going to be pretty spectacular? I'm not saying that's what happened, but my fuzzy impression sure is that you either didn't see him on screen or you saw him on screen with an amazing catch of an insane throw being made right over his outstretched hand.
Interceptions, which really are ball skills, are very important for a DB. It’s a lot of reps for a guy to have with no INT’s. And Taylor did give up plays when he was right there because which is likely because his ball skills aren’t very good.
He was a solid CB. Maybe he develops into a decent NFL CB. I don’t think that will happen, but it might.

Picks are secondary to coverage at best. Probably down the list from that. Plenty of shitty CBS make interceptions and hack fans jerk off over it and think that play erases getting thrown on all day. Taylor rarely got thrown on. Most of the times he was he had good to great coverage and that went on for four seasons.
He's very good at his primary duty which is to cover guys and force the QB to look elsewhere or throw up a 50:50 ball. The scouts see it and draft day will reflect it.
Seems like we need to clean things up out here occasionally. The boards lately have taken on a toxic tone at times. Profanity, personal attacks, excessive snarky comments, shots at the business and mods, over the top emotional rants etc. Complaints were through the roof.
All of the mods took a heavy-handed approach. It's always a small group that ignites and throws gasoline on things. In addition, we had an increase of activity from the subscribers from the Oregon site. The ability to post has been revoked from a handful. Some for longer than others. Those who weren't subscribers here, pretty much forever.
Moderating is the most difficult thing we do. Some posters feel entitled to post whatever they want because they subscribe. Some feel their length of time here gives them a much longer leash. Neither are true.
The Twitter mob can be disgraceful and some of it finds its way here. Many newspapers and other outlets have shut down their comments sections because they have just become too hard to monitor and moderate. Twitter and Facebook are facing huge problems moderating. It's not easy and it's never black or white. There's always lots of gray. And those who've had their ability to post revoked for a while, please don't proclaim your innocence. We don't take revoking ability to post lightly. And nobody has ever had that happen because the don't agree with us, of for no reason. If it's happened to you, you know why.
We do the best we can. The boards are at their best when no moderation is needed. They're at their worst when moderation is needed. Hopefully, a message has been sent to a few and won't be needed again.

He's not Kevin King or Sidney Jones or Byron Murphy or Elijah Molden or Trent McDuffie good (or Marcus Peters or Desmond Trufant).
Which is no knock, we havre been chinsanely spoiled with elite CB play.
He'll play in the NFL for a long time and probably stumble into a couple of picks.
He's not getting drafted ahead of Levi, Elijah or Tryon though.
