That song is a goddamn tear jerker. T’s & P’s. Lost my 3 1/2 year old Doberman to cancer in 2017. The day we put him down we took him to the beach and let him run. I had a ziploc bag with treats in my jacket pocket and he got them all.

I left the bag in my pocket and hung up the jacket and didn’t put it back on for 6 months. The bag was still there and it got me when I realized the last time I’d worn the jacket. Almost started crying again.

I'll be facing that final drive sometime soon with my 15+ year old mixed breed that raised my kids as much as I did. Still a handsome old bastard with more personality than most people I know. But the declining strength in his back end is starting to be a real problem and I don't know that he'll see 2023.

And I keep hearing Shannon on the radio or Spotify, which chokes me up every goddamn time and forces me to find the old bastard and pet him for awhile.

People fucking suck. Dogs fucking rule.
