For some reason, it took me years to put together two and two together that this was the same guy who did Novocaine for the Soul in the 90s. Which was always a song I liked in the 90s even though I was too cool to say I liked it. Also, the favorite artist of my buddy who’s always trying to get me to give up pumping gas to fulfill Prime orders.

Continuing down the White Stripes auxiliary path, the singer in this band put Jack White in his cowpunk band and played Johnny Cash's guitarist in Walk the Line. This is still one of my favorite Alt-country tracks of the decade regardless.
