In 1993 I arrived in Georgia as a 20 year old fan of UW football. If I’d known then what I know now, I would’ve switched my purple and gold Doog for red and black Doog. Instead, I set myself up for 27 years and counting of pain, frustration and disappointment.

I feel you man. I moved to the south in 95.
Many ragrets.
At the tim, I planned to be there 3 years then back to Seattle and go to UW. Instead I fucked around and didn’t get back to Seattle until 2007.

It's no surprise that fewer restrictions and more flexibility are key to success in logistics. From the beginning, the Southeastern Conference was focused on delivering a good product for its fanbase/customers. The member schools worked, from the beginning, on addressing many contingencies to make for a successful season.
So, UW, ALONE, had more games cancelled than the entire 14 teams of the SEC?
Okay, then.
This is the crux of it. P12 could have stayed on the high horse and played (probably canceled) in the spring, or dismounted to play in the dirt with everyone else. Instead the rode side saddle and fell off into a pile of shit.

SEC had more games cancelled than UW. But because they built in margin they had time to reschedule all but two of them.
