I take it back. Huskies are by far the worst team in the Pac 12. 7 for 18 from the free throw line. Like 40 turnovers in the first half. Green couldn't hit jack shit... actually fouled out against a total shit Montana squad.

And while we're at it... how fucking terrible is the Pac 12? ASU lost to UTEP today after being the only ranked team in the Pac. What has happened to a once great conference?

The Dawgs would have lost to Gonzaga by 60.

For some reason my old man, a life long UW b-ball fan and big time doog, who is partially responsible for my fandom - out of pocket said UW b-ball would make the tournament this year, I said, the NCAA tournament??? When he replied yea I said I have to call you on that bet whatever you want. No joke, a bottle of Passing Time wine that I have to drink with him, either way I just got half a bottle of nice wine for free. Wish it wasn’t because the college b-ball team I love is complete trash but that’s the way it goes.

His reasoning, “we didn’t lose to Baylor by that much” lmaoooo, Jen Cohen loves him

The frustrating part the last 2 seasons is just 0 will or ability to overcome adversity. You're looking at 7 or 8 players on this roster who won tournament MVP's and avg'd like 25 a game in high school... they step on the college court and immediately shit their pants.

What happened to the Terrance Ross's? the IT's? Fuck man... Jamal Bay had 1 fucking point tonight against fucking Montana... the dude won MVP's at HUGE national tournaments as a high schooler. Hameir Wright was Mr. Basketball in the state of fucking New York... he had 5 points, 4 fouls and 2 turnovers... he's now shooting like 25% from 3... fucking mental god damn midgets.

IT was a 5'7 3-star recruit who pissed competitiveness... these guys are wounded, sad little puppies.

The Pac 12 didn't have a single team ranked in the top 25 of last week's AP & Coaches polls https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings

Hameir has to be one of the worst three point shooters in the country based on number of attempts and yet he has the green light, its laughable.

Good this team needs to be abysmal to get Hop out of here

    They are abysmal

81% chance Hop is back next year... They will throw out some mulligan covid excuse...
If he wins 1 game there is a chance he is gone, especially after following last years mess.

I fully expect this team to live and die by the three pointer, which means they will likely beat a good team because they shoot 60% behind the arc one night, and then the next five games shoot 10% on 30 attempts per game.

I looked up UW’s RPI to confirm that UW is the worst power five team in the country and I was surprised to see Kentucky is 1-5 and lower than UW. Would probably still crush UW if they played.

But if Kentucky can’t compete in Covid times how can we expect UW too????? Jen Cohen’s logic probably.

@sonics1993 needs to step up the plate with the buyout and get BRoy and real recruiting in there.

It is imperative we cheer for losses every game, such is the depth and breadth of Hopkins' failure. The other site apparently had all sorts of horrifying rumors about him as well, stuff JV coaches in HS don't even pull like not telling Sam Timmins that his jersey number was changed and given to Isaiah Stewart. Sam found out when he reported back for camp and opened his locker. Or putting the team on blast about fouling when it was entirely about Jaden and he never once singled Jaden out or talked to him.

I wasn't kidding with my Chernobyl metaphor. It's a breathtaking failure at literally every level, temporarily obfuscated by Matisse and that veteran team he inherited.

I've heard the Timmins story. Mind blowing incompetence.

These past two seasons (including this current season) might be a bit more palatable if Mike Hopkins had a nice recruiting class coming in, but alas, he has not. In 2020 Mike Hopkins had a zero HS recruiting class. In 2021 Mike Hopkins currently has a one HS recruit (F 6'9 Jackson Grant- Olympia HS 4 Star) recruiting class. Local top HS recruits from the greater Seattle-Tacoma area are avoiding the program like the plague. Every Mike Hopkins targeted HS recruit for 2020 and 2021 outside of Jackson Grant has chosen other basketball programs than the UW. Mike Hopkins can't even get commitments from legacy recruits like Paolo Banchero or Shane Nowell. And after the way that Mike Hopkins tried to scapegoat Jaden McDaniels for last season's tailspin he won't be getting any Rotary AAU recruits in the near future either. And the 2022 classes and beyond don't look any better both locally and nationally commitment wise.

The UW currently has four HS scholarships offers out for 2022 https://247sports.com/college/washington/Season/2022-Basketball/Offers/ , one HS scholarship offer for 2023 and zero HS scholarships offers out for 2024 as per 247Sports. Mike Hopkins' much hyped up East Coast HS recruiting pipeline has dried up. Dave Rice isn't getting any Las Vegas HS recruits. Cameron Dollar isn't getting any California HS recruits. Will Conroy, to no fault of his own, can't get any Seattle-Tacoma HS recruits because they don't want to play for Mike Hopkins' losing program and his out dated 2-3 zone. Year four of the Mike Hopkins' era at Montlake is backsliding like Michael Jackson doing the moon walk.

The potential BRoy era at Montlke should be upon us as soon and those wealthy, influential Tyee Club members that brought Mike Hopkins and his Syracuse West dream to Montlake by buying out LoRo (3.2 million) can ante up and find a number for Mike Hopkins then make him an offer that he can't refuse. It takes more than push ups before an interview to lead a basketball program. As soon as LoRo's recruits left the program and Mike Hopkins had to coach his own recruits recruited by him to play in his system he has been exposed as a fool's gold coach.

Not to mention that Mike Hopkins came to the UW from a dirty, NCAA sanctioned (2000-2012) Syracuse program https://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2015/3/9/8166543/syracuse-ncaa-scandal-explained-jim-boeheim where he feigned ignorance to NCAA investigators despite in his own words being very involved with the players both on and off of the court. Is that the type of individual that should be hired to lead a program and impressionable young men?

The scope of the NCAA's sprawling 94-page report is so massive that it's easy to lose track of the actual infractions. More than anything, the NCAA is punishing Syracuse for "a lack of institutional control" from the 2000-01 season through 2011-12.

Syracuse was being punished for three things:

    1.Improper benefits

    2. Academic misconduct

    3. A failure to enforce the school's drug policy

    The punishment was:

The basketball program lost 12 scholarships over the next four years. Boeheim was given a nine game suspension and docked 108 career victories. The men's basketball program was placed on probation for five years. The number of permissible off campus recruiters was trimmed from four to two starting June 1, 2015 and ending May 31, 2017. Plus, a million dollar plus fine.

She deserves to be fired because the hire shows that she knows fuck all about basketball and didn't bother to seek proper consultation.

Just get BRoy before the kids have no clue how godly he was

Watching Hop and how bad last/this/and what next year looks to be and the comparison to Andy Russo looks spot on

Interesting he ended up running a car wash.

UW seemingly can't sign HS recruits to save their lives for 2020 & 2021 while Gonzaga signs a 2021 5 star HS recruit (F 6'8 Ben Gregg Clackamas HS/Portland, Oregon) mid season of 2020 https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2020/dec/17/gonzaga-2021-commit-ben-gregg-moves-up-timetable-j/ .

It’s been a whirlwind four months for Ben Gregg, who committed to Gonzaga in September, signed in November and now will suit up for the Zags later this month.

Gregg completed high school graduation requirements early and will join the Zags for the rest of the season, the school announced. The Clackamas (Oregon) High grad will wear No. 33 and will be eligible to play once he passes university health protocols.

Gregg has enrolled in GU classes for next semester and he’s expected to arrive on campus this weekend.
