At 3-2 and with a win over North champ Washington, why is Stanford not playing USC?
Excellent point. And they didn't get to play this year which is important to both schools. So much so that the Pac 12 North has an unbalanced schedule to accommodate them playing every year

Could be a little awkward when Tree have already announced they won't accept a bowl bid, I guess.
Although note that Tree's game is in LA so that UCLA and Stanford are both available to step in if UW, USC, CU, Oregon all catch the 'vid. Because this game absolutely, positively must be played!
