Tuskegee experiment

SFGbobSFGbob Member Posts: 31,942
The Washington Post reports that African-Americans are less willing than Whites and Hispanics to be vaccinated against the Wuhan coronavirus. It cites a Pew Research study finding that fewer than half of American Blacks express willingness to be vaccinated. By contrast, 63 percent of Latinos and 61 percent Whites say they are agreeable to taking the vaccine.

Blacks are resisting the vaccine even though, according to the Post, they are nearly three times as likely as Whites to die from the coronavirus. Community activists are desperately trying to overcome this resistance.

One of the reason we're given as to why blacks are less willing to be vaccinated we're told is the Tuskegee Experiment. Does anyone else buy this bullshit? Tuskegee Experiment was conducted nearly 90 years ago. There is a hell of lot of false information that's reported on the experiment. The government intentionally infected the men with syphilis is one of the bigger lies that gets repeated. Does anyone really believe that blacks are less likely to say they will get a Covid shot due to the Tuskegee Experiment?

Obviously due to the Tuskegee Experiment.

I'm thinking that telling people all whites are racists who hate black people along with Cameltoe and Joe bad mouthing the "Trump vaccine" might have a more meaningful impact on black people's willingness to get the shot than the Tuskegee Experiment.

You ask the average white, black, hispanic or asian about the Tuskegee Experiment and you will get random answers. To a leftard it's always 1920 in America. Gays hiding out. Blacks being hunted by whites for fun.

Of the people who have even heard of it, I've heard more people state the false claim that the government intentionally infected the men who were participating in the experiment then I've ever heard about the truth of the case. Another little factoid is that the then head of Tuskegee, Robert Moton, agreed to conduct the study as long as the Tuskegee Institute got the credit for the research and that black medical professionals were part of the experiment. But of course today evil whitey is fully to blame.

    Obviously, they weren't really black.
