Janet Reno (write in)1960 in Hawaii, right before the outset of the tourism boom. Still authentic, beaches with plenty of open sand for long walks and perspective.

@YellowSnow I went to the whisky ago go in 1967.... you might like the article in vanity fair about the scene then in LA... it’s a fun read about the scene then...dirt@RaceBannon . The LA music scene of the 60's- e.g., Beach Boys, Byrds, Love, Doors, Mamas and Papa, Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young, CSN, etc is second only the 1960's London.
The various Laurel Canyon docs out there are terrific. -
