The fact that Karl Dorrell got another head coaching gig kind of refutes the article's premise. Dorrell was just an awful head coach. Anyone think Helfrich will ever get another shot at being a head coach at a power five conference school?

I wonder if the reporter asked Ty how many black coaches he helped promote? A guy who was a head coach at 3 power 5 schools for about 13-15 years total must've had quite a few black coordinators who went on to other downtrodden programs?

Did the reporter ask Ty if he thought the claims of racism after he was fired by ND helped or hurt other prospective black coaches?

Did the reporter ask Ty if maybe, just maybe, Ty was a shitty fucking coach who had no business running a D1 program?

If you make it more dangerous to fire (or even just work around) certain types of people than smart people stop hiring them in the first place.

Whether it’s a hot 20 year old secretary or black football coach.

No one is going to #believeallwomen if it’s a middle aged schlubby white guy getting me coffee and answering phone calls alone with me late during a late night at the office. And no one really gives a fuck if you fire a shitty white coach even if it’s just because he locked your son in a shed and called him a pussy.

It’s not a matter of bigotry, it’s just simple risk assessment.
