A DHS agency said America’s elections were secure. So Trump fired its leader.

President Donald Trump fired Chris Krebs, who led the Homeland Security Department’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), on Tuesday evening — days after the agency, which is in charge of protecting elections, called the 2020 presidential election “the most secure in American history.”

Trump did so because the agency’s — and Krebs’s personal — defense of the integrity of the elections punctures Trump’s baseless claim that the election was stolen from him.

CISA’s statement rebutted many of the conspiracy theories Trump has used to claim there was some sort of wrongdoing, and said, in part, “While we know there are many unfounded claims and opportunities for misinformation about the process of our elections, we can assure you we have the utmost confidence in the security and integrity of our elections, and you should too.”

On Tuesday evening, Trump dismissed Krebs in a tweet, falsely calling the statement “highly inaccurate” and claiming that because of that, “effective immediately,” Krebs “has been terminated” as CISA direc

I think you're smarter than you appear here so please answer this - when did American elections get secure? 2016 wasn't. It was in all the papers. And Trump refused to do anything about it. Also widely reported.

    So how did this happen?

The statement referred to outside the US interference not in house cheating. They did not monitor Dominion.

I find it hilarious that this board always takes the word of a pathological liar over professionals who are just doing their job. Do you think Trump would be screaming about voter fraud if he had won?

There are no professionals left. It's all one side or the other the same with the courts. That you don't see it is funny.

I find it sad that you support election fraud and lying. Must be the new civics. Keep rooting for the away team.

I love when a pathological liar calls someone else a pathological liar.

There are 2 sides. The truth and misinformation/lies. Trump is the king of the latter because he knows his braindead supporters will believe every tin foil hat conspiracy theory he tweets out. From skimming this board over the last two weeks since he got his ass kicked, it appears he is right for once.

Oh great, Gay Bob is back. Please tell me about all the voter fraud that helped Biden steal the election.

    Bush stole Florida

Diebold was 2004 when Kerry had the election stolen. The networks went crazy with exit polling that day showing an easy Kerry win.

Just a couple years ago a super model had the governorship of Georgia stolen from her with Dominion the culprit

This guy had zero to do with overseeing vote counts at a local level. It was an irresponsible lie by him, yet @insinceredawg is upset with Trump for firing this guy who gave, at best, a very misleading statement on election security designed to fool dumb people. Worked on ID, of course.

I am well weary of this. However, back atcha

Not the same. Yes there have been hot takes from the left but that doesn't normalize what Trump is doing. He is refusing to concede and commence the transfer of power solely out of spite and his fragile ego that is too humiliated to admit he lost. His legal team is getting shit on in the courts and there's been essentially no evidence of widespread voter fraud, at least to the extent that would overturn any of the races.

Brian Kemp’s Lead in Georgia Needs an Asterisk
If the governor’s race had taken place in another country, the State Department would have questioned its legitimacy.

    NOVEMBER 7, 2018

So when did Georgia become secure? Any thoughts?????

The Democrat Stacey Abrams, a black woman, made a valiant effort to win the governor’s race in Georgia, one of the original 13 states, whose commitment to human bondage ensured that the U.S. Constitution would treat slavery with kid gloves. A state that was part of the Confederacy. A state scorched by Union General William Tecumseh Sherman in the Civil War. A state that refused to accept the outcome of that war, treating its black residents as second-class citizens—if that—until the federal government forced its hand, a century later, with the Voting Rights Act. She tried to write a new narrative for this state.

Although Abrams has not yet conceded, citing uncounted ballots, it looks as though the other side has won, and the narrative is the same as ever. Abrams didn’t have to fight just an electoral campaign; she had to fight a civil-rights campaign against the forces of voter suppression.

Indeed, I can’t quite bring myself to say that Abrams “lost,” because there’s an asterisk next to her Republican opponent’s victory.

Brian Kemp, who billed himself as a “Trump conservative,” refused to step aside as Georgia’s secretary of state; he ran for governor of a state while overseeing the elections in that state. Former President Jimmy Carter, a Georgian with much experience monitoring elections abroad, stressed that this conflict of interest ran “counter to the most fundamental principle of democratic elections—that the electoral process be managed by an independent and impartial election authority.”

And Hillary still says Trump stole the election.

Al Gore conceited in December. Whats the rush?

Hillary conceded and Obama invited Trump to the WH within days of the election to start the transfer of power.

Gore didn't concede because it was down to one state that was separated by hundreds of votes. Trump would need to overturn at least 2 states where he's down by over 10k. Not gonna happen.

That's probably true but Gore still waited way longer and the republic survived and the media cheered him on

Hillary conceded but says to this day it was stolen. That's a fact
