AP: South Dakota Including NICU Beds In Hospital Availability
South Dakota health officials acknowledged Tuesday that they include intensive care unit beds designed for infants in their total count of hospital beds available in the state — a key metric that the governor has used to defend her handling of the coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 hospitalizations reached 607 on Tuesday, marking a new high for the fifth day in a row. The Department of Health reported that about 37% of general-care hospital beds and 32% of ICU beds are available. (11/10)

32 percent of ICU beds available means the hospitals are losing money but don't stop now

H thinks the goal of for-profit hospitals is to have zero patients in ICU. No patients = PROFIT

    One stupid post after another.

t’s nice to see someone amplifying the ‘mostly non biased’ AP’s obsession with the governor of South Dakota. NICU beds are ICU beds anyway. This can be fixed pretty easily and it wouldn’t make a huge fucking difference in the rate anyway. If there was a huge outbreak the hospitals would be overwhelmed and they’d be stacking up the bodies. People still trying to pretend we’re in the movie Contagion.

Could be we’re just pretending the Dakotas have the highest infection rate in the country, and highest by a mile. They practice libertarian public health there. How’s it going?

Could be it’s the governor’s fault. Obviously democrat governors are better, right?
