I hope we run the fucking ball and our receivers are taught to block. Actually I don't care, I'm just glad we don't have Dr. bubble screen anymore. So exciting to have an actual plan on offense that I don't care what the personnel is next year.
Our WR unit could be really good. Or the lack of depth could prove to be a problem.
It all comes down to health and how coach Petersen adapts to the big time, edgy WR recruits that Sark brought in. He could lose them right away if he comes in with hubris and a Kremlin type approach to the passing game.
It's gonna be interesting. Tune in here to get the latest reports, and drop into chat for even more hints about things we (allegedly) know but can't tell you.
I thought Williams diagnosis was changed from Lis-Franc to just a badly broken foot?
The Jood blog post linked above describes Williams' injury as "breaking his fibula (and displacing foot ligaments)." Sounds like a Lisfranc to me. But I'm not a doctor, and neither is Jood.
Even if Kasen isn't completely healthy, we will be fine at WR. String, Mickens, and Ross are a good trio. You can put Perkins or Daniels in the slot, and I am sure we will have a freshman or 2 who can fill in and be serviceable. Without Kasen, it's not a top tier position group in the conference, but it's somewhere in the middle.
I sure hope the rest of our offseason report card looks good. No way we'll be able to compete for the P12 North without at least a B+ avg.
Here would be mine.
QB: B : I am excited about the potential here. I think Miles is pretty good, and if Williams is the guy, it means he is probably pretty good. One of these 4* guys has to be good.
RB: B+ : Could be a conservative ranking. Washington could be a stud. He looks great to me. Cooper is a wild card. I think he should be a lot better after knocking the rust off. Callier is serviceable for 4-6 carries a game. Kim said Coleman is really good, so he will probably suck.
WR: A- : I am assuming Kasen comes back. I think these guys will be fun to watch.
TE: D : I hope someone can step up. Nobody really excites me here.
OL: B+ : All 5 starters back with 2 years starting experience. No Sark or Cozzetto. I think this is the most improved unit on the team. I am drinking the Kool-Aid, but if they are an A-, we could win the North.
DL: A- : Jamora and Shelton are great. Littleton improved, but still pisses me off. There are some promising young guys. Another group I think takes a big step this year.
LB: B : Timu is pretty good, but inconsistent. Shaq has potential, but disappeared after the first few games. Feeney looks the part and acts like a maniac, but fucks up a lot. It was an overrated group last year.
CB: B : Peters is top notch. Kelly was a very coveted recruit. He needs to be as advertised or it's not looking good. Need at least 1 more quality player here, preferably 2.
S: F : Nobody here to be excited about. Hopefully we can find two guys who aren't a disaster.
Special Teams: Hopefully we have a reliable kicker. Coons is a big loss.
I think the reason this team will be able to compete with anyone is having Petersen instead of Sark, and finally getting good play out of the lines.
To use one guy as an example- I agree that Feeney is pretty athletic and can make good plays but he's often out of position. I hope the new coaching staff will be able to work with him and other guys who have talent but don't play with enough discipline.

Stanford school of grading.
