Dante Pettis

I’ve been reading that Shanahan doesn’t like Pettis going back to his rookie season. It was weird that they drafted him.RoadDawg55 said:
When he was first in SF, their were reports about how he was himself, wasn’t too serious, and it was all positive.Edwin_Bambino said:
Honestly they are being dumb, just because he posts about video games and photography and anime on twitter doesn’t mean he’s not putting in the work.alumni94 said:San Francisco fans don't like him. They think his spends his time on non-football stuff.
...and I think they are most likely right.
The dudes that only post work out vids and box jumps and shit are try hards. With that being said he hasn’t panned out in SF, partly I think Jimmy G is just ass and people don’t want to admit it but whatever. Hopefully Dante gets another shot, wouldn’t hate the hawks picked him up and stashed him on the practice squad to see what he’s got. Positive Pete and Russ could be exactly what he need.
Something happened. He hasn’t reacted well. He has no confidence and Shanahan hates him. -
Shanahan is another one hit boy blunder

Easy to look good when ur d line is so dominant, bosa injury really hurt that teamRaceBannon said:Shanahan is another one hit boy blunder

Eh, I think there's a lot of truth to what they're saying. You can take one look at Pettis's physique and know he's not putting in the work required to make it in such a hypercompetitive landscape. Whether his weird hobbies are distracting from that or not nobody can say, but the end result is pretty apparent.Edwin_Bambino said:

If Pettis looked like dk metcalf and was still riding pine ... then yeah.
But he's got the pinkish dyed fluffy hair rep and is a healthy scratch. In the hypermasculine nfl world I get the impression they don't trust him anymore... -

If the Seahawks needed any help at all at WR, sure. They don’t tho. That’s without Dorsett and Josh Gordon.
Antonio Brown is different than Pettis or Ross. Neither would catch passes for the Seahawks and they would play a handful of plays at most. It’s far from being the best spot for them. They aren’t reestablishing themselves as legitimate NFL WR’s as a #4 WR. They really would more likely be #5 or #6.
Green Bay, Miami, Baltimore, Buffalo, even Cleveland... Those are places where they could get a chance to produce and revive their careers.
Now if Sidney Jones got cut, I would be all for bringing him in. WR is honestly the last place the Seahawks need any help. It’s arguably the best WR corps in the game and that’s without two proven guys that have yet to play. -
So do they still pay him?
-
He had guaranteed money. 3.5 mil of the 4 year deal was guaranteed. He gets what he’s guaranteed and has earned. It’s available online.FireCohen said:So do they still pay him?

Sometimes, actually a lot of times, really really good college football players just aren’t very good NFL players

Damn Teq... 🤨... I thought u were kinda doin a subtle/slow play rehab of ur name over the past few months? I can't speak for anyone else but I was like "eh he's alright he just shouldn't be on podcasts, but he ain't so bad".Tequilla said:

What do u even mean about the relevance of my gays list tho? It was a weak attempt at easy Chins, usually one can't go wrong with gay jokes here. Shit gets beyond irrelevant on damn near every thread here lol.
Then u get high and mighty (ur classic) for no reason lol. Having something shoved down ur throat by ESPN is an American pastime. It doesn't mean u believe it or care at all...
I've been told for 20 some years by Shane Co. that I have a friend in the diamond business, but I'm certain I dont... U giant tool -
hey ... I liked Pettis ... he balled for us and did well. He set punt return records and all that stuff and repped the purple and gold for all intents and purposes.
but videos like this don't promote ... uhhh ... confidence.

San Fran? Who waived him without any takers?
San Fran despite injuries at wr didn't even play the dude?

I mean
Who cares about some weirdo dancing around on Twitter, it has no real implication on his football skills or commitment level -
The first red flag that Pettis might not cross the NFL threshold athletically was when he lost the punt returning job.
He went from PR GOAT to like 3 yards per return. -

This guy's likely to be a first rounder.
The NFL doesn't GAF about twitter videos. -

They might when said video shows a dad bod on an "elite" athlete.

I'm just saying that when san fran coaches appear to want "more" from Pettis, more dk metcalf bod and focus ... and "less" stuff like that twitter vid with the dad bod and flamboyant laissez faire ... You're gonna get less involvement in the team scheme.
Fumble a punt return when you're in the perennial doghouse and it's the waiver wire you go.
We'll see if he gets picked up on the market. If he doesn't that's pretty damning evidence of what nfl teams are assessing of him. -
Yeah, doesn't really look like an NFL body right there. Although most of you guys would hit it.BleachedAnusDawg said:

If being high and mighty means that I don't care what a player's sexual orientation is ... then I'm guilty.rustysavage said:

If being high and mighty means that I think it's a joke that people bitch about what ESPN is telling you and my response is if you don't like it being jammed down your throat then turn it off vs saying "thank you sir may I have another" ... then I'm guilty as well.
Just tired of people blaming others for shit -
Giants pick up Pettis off of waivers.
