I think there are a lot of people that don't view what the Democratic Party is promoting as Socialism/Communism ... or don't feel that that can happen in the US
I know that there are a lot of people that view Trump as a mean bully and feel that the Office of the Presidency requires a certain way of treating people.

Well the first example you noted is completely consistent with the notion of money over ideology. Hollywood and the NBA both bow to China for the very same reason.
I'd argue the same is true for the second. As soon as the market decided they were no longer going to tolerate rapists like Weinstein and Spacey, they were no longer profitable and dumped by the wayside.
Point being - the Rock is a money generating machine. If he was conservative it wouldn't be a problem in today's environment because he'd still print money no matter how many loony liberals decided they were going to boycott his movies.
