Not sure why of the downvotes...are there no athletic activities that day even though it’s the first week of games?
If I had to guess, the downvotes are aimed at the virtue-signaling wording of the Tweet.
Maybe the timing of the Tweet as well, as I alluded to in my post.
Might also be due to the fact most of America doesn’t get the day off to vote on Election Day. (I just checked the UW academic calendar and students still have classes.)
Either way, events or no, I’m sure there’s still practices, team meetings, recruiting, that should be going on that day.
Voting is a right...but that doesn’t mean normal life stops for it.

Are you actually tracking downvotes? If I were to count the number of DVs and WTFs I’ve received from @RaceBannon alone it would be a full tim occupation.
