One of America's worst delusions is that other cultures are like ours - or how our culture used to be. We can fix other cultures if we kill off a huge percentage of military age men and destroy their country. Took twice to cure the Germans and a couple of nukes to finish the Japanese. Stalin starved out the Ukrainians. If you don't want to serve the time, don't do the crime.
