Aaand we've got a caller! Kim from Kirkland*, Washington.
"Thanks for having me on, guys. Just wanted to say hi to steve... hi steve! I will be in the LA area next week tracking some boys, wondering if we could hit up the sizzler? Or maybe Red Lobster? I have a gift card there!"
you do have to admit that Sark does have a great agent.
That is true, but if you look at the iron clad buyouts on Willingham and Sark's contracts (and maybe even Petersen's), you have to wonder what UW is doing wrong in negotiations.

Prolly because UW's limp wristed BOR attorney is so disgusted that we are actually funding the football program, instead of softball and crew, that she doesn't even bother reading the contract.
It must be hard to read with tears of disgust in your eyes.

Petersen's buyout is basically the remainder of his contract. Petersen needs to be who we think he is.

Well, I suspect Sark completely bullshitted Woody into all those assistant's contracts with his "best coaching staff in America" rhetoric... luckily for us, PHFS went on tilt and one-upped Woody. I don't know how or why or what, but it's done and I'm still smiling from that magical day.
As far as Coach P goes I think it's one of those situations where Woody really only had one card to play to get an experienced head coach who is a head coach and Coach P already had his number.
Woody had to meet the number (a billion or whatever it was) or go back to that wonderfully thorough coaching selection committee he hired last time... and we know how that ended.

*I don't know if he lives in Kirkland.
Or was that the plan all along; leave him undercover at UW strategically leaving sacks of cash around the VMAC.
