Well it was a glorified halfway practice but it culminated in the completion of UWs 11 consecutive off season championship so I thought I might as well type up some nonsense about what was seen.

The stand out theme, other than the golf and wiener (LOL!) dog competitions was that almost every single snap was out of the shotgun. Word on the street is that Sarks offense during the season will feature 80% shotgun or pistol formations. "Experts" keep calling Sarks "new" offense faster pace, even hinting at the idea that it would be Oregons no huddle but we all know realistically that UW isnt going to run an offense that closely resembles the Oregon no huddle spread. No word on how UW will attempt to run the ball out of the shotgun or pistol when Price's knees dont allow him to be a real running threat.

QB:
Price seems to be limping a lot less but still not nearly as mobile as he was when he started at UW. Brown is obviously going to be pushed out and will likely be gone by the time the season starts. Myles seems to be the backup QB but he has a hitch in his throwing motion and a relatively weak arm which is a bit of a concern. Lindquist seems to have promise and will hopefully overtake Myles soon.

WR:
Kasen Williams is athletic, strong, has great hands, and is decently dependable. Williams however is not really fast, not quick, and struggles to create space when matched up one on one. Hall is fast but cant catch. Mickens looked great and it seems like UW would really like to use him like a Percy Harvin type lining him up all over the field and even in the backfield. James Johnson was out, injured and rumor is he may transfer away. Campbell is the new face in the starting lineup and has really improved. Sims looked good and was big, maybe he will actually contribute.

RB:
Sankey is still the same guy we saw last year. There should be concern that the transition to almost completely a shotgun offense will slow him down a bit but I guess we will find out. Callier played some but we pretty limited. Dwayne Washington showed the most promise for the future. Washington showed good speed for his size and didnt shy away from contact.

OL:
The OL is going to struggle in pass protection out of the shotgun with little threat of a run. The interior OL got pretty abused throughout the practice by the DL. The OL has always been decent in run/downhill blocking unit but due to play calling you couldnt see much

TE:
ASJ was out due to his poor drinking habits. Perkins was decent all the other TEs were relatively forgettable.

DL:
Shelton was a beast against our OL when he actually tried but he is definitely going to get doubled team most of the season because he doesnt have much help. There has been lots of people circle jerking about Shirley but he went relatively unnoticed in the format for the day.

LB:
Shaq is a beast but I cant help thinking that he is still slightly undersized to play strong side LB and he does get lost sometimes when trying to fill a hole against the run. Timu is Timu, right place poor tackling. Other than those two there is a distinct lack of talent in the LB core but not much was really shown.

Secondary:
The corners got beat a lot. Ducre should be better than he played at this point. It looked like the secondary competition was pretty wide open and they rotated a bunch of guys through all the positions. Peters likes to run his mouth but cant really back it up.

TLDR: Tried to be positive, fuck off
