One good thing about the Vid for any bidness tied to housing is that the millenial-driven trend away from bigger houses in the burbs has done an about face. People have regained their appreciation for their own 'little slice of heaven' called their fucking house. Building and materials haven't even really waited for the leash. Toss in the world class sh*tty public schools systems in Portland and Seattle and declining safety of the so-called world class public transportation and the burbs are looking pretty good.

I think people would overlook the violence and buy on the assumption that it will stop. What I think will really hurt these urban condos is the lack of retail in the downtown core. Living in DT Seattle isn't nearly as fun when all the restaurants, shops and theaters are gone.
