"Coach (Junior) Adams and I have been talking since the end of my freshman season," Clemons told Dawgman.com. "I've been up there four times already -- for camp last summer, then for the Cal and Oregon games and then I was up there in January -- so I know the school and the area really well and I have a good relationship with the coaches."
"Coach Adams said they had been thinking about (offering) for a while, but then when they saw me run the 40, he said he had to offer," Clemons said of his conversation wit the Husky wide receivers coach. "He said they haven't offered a lot of guys and he considers me an in-state guy and that he likes what I can do on the field and how I have size, but I also have speed."
"No schools are really sticking out from the others at this point," Clemons noted. "Every school that's offered me is special in its own way. I really want to get the chance to get out and see more schools. I've already been up to Washington a few times and I've been to Oregon, Oregon State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan to see games or I was there for a visit. I'm not close to committing to a school, but when I am ready, I will commit. I'm not going to drag it out or anything."
"The biggest thing for me is choosing a school that my family feels comfortable sending me," Clemons said. "Do the coaches have my best interests in mind? What are the academics? I want to get a degree that matters because if football doesn't work out or whenever your career is over, you have to have something else to do. I'm also looking for my relationship with the coaches and the players, playing time, football stuff, all of that."
"I feel like my ball skills are my best attribute as a player," Clemons said. "I have good speed, but that doesn't matter if you can't track the ball or go up and get it down the field. I can improve on everything, but I'm a pretty good route-runner and I feel like I can do a lot of different things."
"The Stanford offer meant a lot because that's more than just football," said Clemons. "My parents preached to be a student before an athlete and it just shows the hard work outside of football will take you far. I talked with coach (David) Shaw and he's really cool and down to earth."
Earlier this week, Washington offered Clemons.
"That was definitely one offer I’ve been waiting for awhile for," said Clemons, who camped at Washington last summer. "I like coach (Junior) Adams a lot."
Then Notre Dame followed suit.
"That offer was big," said Clemons. "Notre dame is definitely a place of interest. I've visited there twice and I love coach (Delvaughn) Alexander and the university."
He says Clemson and tOSU are likely the next to offer.
