I wasn’t arguing the merits over it being a deliberate destruction of the economy.

I was saying that if he starts peddling that theory, it will gain zero traction with anyone on the fence. People who think that are voting for him anyway. agreed; that issue is so incendiary, I think you stay away from it until theres' no other choice. it's like I said about Seattle. there are many more moderates here than the average person thinks. the reason they're hard to see is because they're quiet and don't run their mouths all day long like people on the far right and left do. those people amount to votes and it's hard to pin point where they sit on this issue. why bother? it's the economy stupid. that's the line I'd always go with unless something else more compelling made itself obvious to me. if I were Trump I'd do what Doogles said: I did it once and I'll do it again. law & order is also a good message that resonates with people. he's got that too. WHen Don jumps in hard on touchy 100% social issues he takes some risk becasue he has no filter.
