I was looking for reasons not to vote MTV Unplugged but it is such a good album. Weezer and Dookie were such good choices I think they pushed me to not vote one over the other.

I wouldn't rank "Dookie" the best if I heard it for the first time today, but man...back in middle school, when that album came out, it was the absolute tits.

Everyone had this album and the Offsprings first album

Smash. A great album to listen to when angry. I think they played mercer arena and tickets were like $15.

I’m a rare Soundgarden fan that actually likes Down on the Upside better than their two first albums.

It was the first Soundgarden album I listened to and I used to ride to baseball games with my dad blasting it. Critics didn’t like it as much as I did tho.

    That's some dark shit man.

This year's so deep neither Sixteen Stone nor Cracked Rear View got a nomination nor a mention but I think either could hit the podium in 96.

Crazy how fast rock fell off from the early 90s to the late.

91 and 94 heads and shoulders above the 90s comp set. Each year winner gets an auto big to the Album dance. But some years like 94 are so deep 3 teams will get in. Other years only might get one in.

To be fair, Sixteen Stone should have had a nomination. Had I actually researched albums that weren't included I probably would have told our row boat peter puffer to fuck off.

Self admittedly, I'm not a huge Nirvana fan ... but the Unplugged album was tremendous and probably opened my eyes to giving me much needed respect for what they accomplished

Add into it essentially it being Kurt's swan song and it gets a little bump for me as a result
