This whole police defunding is going to ravage poor neighborhoods, to a point that we’ll never know, because, once the police are gone, no one will be watching the store.
Wealthy urban neighborhoods like The Gold Coast in Chicago or Pacific Heights/Precidio in SF will hire their own private security, because they can, and the rest of the city will eat itself.
You think the folks in Madison Park or Denny Blaine are going to just accept not having LE? Fuck no. Meanwhile, the animals take over on Cap Hill, ID, downtown, Belltown, and SODO. Drug use explodes across the city because those laws are being enforced even less, and the violence follows soon thereafter.
Not having an armed LE apparatus to manage the city the size of a Seattle or San Francisco is a death spiral. I can’t stress enough how awful these people are who are advocating for this.
