“My favorite part about that play was the sideline," Avalos explained. "There are safeties on the sideline, Nick Pickett being one of them, who are standing back there watching the formation. He’s pointing things out as if he’s in the game standing on the sideline. He pointed it out that it was going to be a fly sweep from the field.

“You can see it on the film him pointing that the fly sweep is coming to the boundary and guys on the field communicate it and get the guys adjusted. Brady sees it, comes down field, hits the guy, and Nick is jumping up on the sideline, his vertical jump was like 40 inches off the ground at that point.

“It was a big-time play on the field in the Rose Bowl. The most remarkable thing about that play is what happened on the sideline."
