    Depends on what you define as NW and west coast.

    If you're talking King County (WA)- yes. Multnomah County (OR) - yes. Same in the Bay Area.

    Start moving outside the large metropolitan areas, no. Very different mindset.

    I can't wait for the lefties to go police less. A lawless society can be cleaned up very quickly by good people. then you put the police back. Save zillions in court costs because who'll need the justice systems in those places with no police to feed it? You'll need trucks to pick up bodies but that's a minor expense.

    Need a new pole for differentiating cops/troops at ground level and idiots making decisions

    Take away the union and see what happens. Firing bad cops, teachers, and whoever the hell else is overstaying their welcome on the public dime shouldn't be this difficult. That's step 1.

    I've got no beef with the military, they just need to get slapped with a little austerity every now and then.

    Did you expect more from a Chief who spent their entire career as a "spokesperson for SPD" doing press conferences and having coffee with reporters covering the police beat?

    Who'd expect that unqualified person to be a lousy Chief?
