The fastest 2021 prospect in the state of California, Fresno (Calif.) Central receiver Xavier Worthy continues to rise in the rankings, making his debut in the Top 100 at No. 95, up 46 spots,” 247Sports national recruiting editor Brandon Huffman wrote. “We’ll see him next month at a combine where he’s hoping to run a 4.3 forty, not unrealistic given his 100m time as a sophomore in the state meet, where he was lone 2021 prospect in the California 100m finals.
“The 6-foot-1, 160-pound speedster, out of Central East High School (Fresno, California), is arguably the fastest recruit in the country and is down to a top six of Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Oregon with the Ducks emerging as the favorite late.
Oregon already has commitments from a pair of all-American wide receivers - Under Armour All-American Kyron Ware-Hudson and Adidas All-American Troy Franklin - but would like to add at least two more, as Mario Cristobal and his staff are targeting Maryland product Dont’e Thornton, as well as Worthy.
The wide receiver duo of Ware-Hudson and Franklin is already among the best pass-catching hauls in program history, and just one more - either Worthy or Thornton - would make it the best in one recruiting class in program history.
Landing the entire set of four might give Oregon the best collection of wide receivers in the nation.“
