Oregon Dems Propose Closing the State for New Business

Well, the dems are wanting to pay for closing down the state with massive tax increases. For a start increasing the top state income tax rate from 9.9% to 13% and the top corporate income tax rate from 7.6% to 11%. At these rates, no financial advisor would advocate that any new business should locate into Oregon. Unless Washington adopts an individual income tax, locating out of Portland to Vancouver is a no brainer. States like Utah with a 5% top individual rate and a 5% corporate tax rate would be a clear alternative. Next like Cali, top Oregon earners would locate out of state. Open border illegal aliens in, more homeless while the upper and upper middle class starts to leave.

You are an Oregon entrepreneur and you have a business that is going public. Your proceeds will be $100,000,000. Oregon tax when you sell out is $13 million. Tax if you move to Washington, Texas or Florida is $0. Tax in Idaho is $6.9 million.

Giving 40 hours of George Floyd bereavement and adding Juneteenth as a new paid holiday in the spur of the moment doesn't come cheap.

Is there an article? I’m not seeing anything about a pop from 9.9 to 13.3
