This case in Atlanta is going to be a watershed moment...
DA is pressing charges for murder. Trying the case in the court of public opinion presenting evidence right now. This seems highly unusual to do...how do you get an unbiased jury? In my opinion ( not a lawyer ) the officer will ultimately not be convicted of murder. Imagine what will break out once that happens down the road...
Essentially, what is being said here is you are under arrest, fight to get away from the cops, steal a weapon in the process, and then shoot the weapon at the cops, the cops are supposed to let the criminal run away or at best, only give chase.
Irresponsible.

On a side note, apparently the DA is under investigation (pretty much everyone in elected office in Atlanta is crooked) and is probably why he's grandstanding on this...that should help the powder keg.
People forget DAs are elected and prosecute for votes.
The guy was on probation for cruelty to children, false imprisonment, simple battery and family violence battery.
The lawyers see a payday and the family is full of shit. I am tired of this crap.
then out free on appeal (kept quiet or taking a couple of years)
and then drop charges because he was fired (gets the innocent cop off the hook)
and settle out of court for seven figures (report this as back pay to appease the masses).
When the last happens the majority of Atlanta will shrug and say who
insert who.gif
Interesting no input from investigators. This DA is going to get his ass handed to him.
