What's funny about Oregon and their highly ranked classes, they had a couple several years ago...UW went in and crushed them 70-21 with those highly touted classes and the following year killed them 38-3. When will fans figure out it's about development more than stars...

You need both. Washington, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan St., Utah, and Stanford, have done a great job developing players with mid level recruiting classes. How many playoff trips do they have combined? Two. How about conference titles? 3? And that was a Michigan St team that got their shit pushed in in the first round. Washington is the closest, and as they were competitive for a while with Alabama, you and I know UW had zero chance. You can be really good with great player development, but you need great players and great player development to be elite.

Recruiting gives you bullets, and the player development is the gun. But, you need bullets. The gun is worthless if all you’re shooting are blanks.
This is so true and good. All the x's and o's in the world can't overcome a lack of Jimmy and Joe's.
