Lake's staff is less than impressive (duh) but I dont see much problem with salaries or contracts. The head coach and program have to at least appear to be all in on the staff members otherwise wtf are they doing there? It's chump change anyways.

On one hand, yes.
OTOH the overpaying of Gregory and Donovan is all the evidence we need that money isn't the problem. Selecting who to give the money to and how to disburse it is the problem.

This. We were told UW would have had a tough time firing Bob and hiring a new coach due to money. If that was truly the case, why the raise?
Sadly, I have already gone through the 7 stages, or however many there are, and am ready to call it quits on 2020, and beyond, until Jimmy flops and is gone in 3 seasons (who am I kidding, he will get the Romar kid gloves and steer the ship to 6-6 in year 5). Most memorable three year run in 30 years was guided by Jake Browning. FYFMFE #teamCOVID
There is no linebacker coach west of the Mississippi that wants this job
Isn't this precisely the year that someone WOULD want the job? You don't buy stocks when they're high, after all.
How could you not look like a genius following Bob's grouping of Manu, Wellington, Sirmon and.............................. Ulofoshio (who, I just looked it up, had more total tackles than Manu on the season, jesus fuck), Bob's coaching acumen or lack thereof notwithstanding?

Bob is Jimmy’s boy. Had Jimmy left for another HC job, he would have taken Gregory with him as his DC. Let that sink in.

Meh. Azeem Victor was on his way to being an all American before breaking his leg. DJ Beavers stepped in and was really good before medically retiring. He was supposed to anchor the defense in 2018. Then BBK stepped in and was an all American. I can get on board with Gregory being an anchor in that he can't recruit on his own but him being the focal point as to why this staff sucks is really doogish.
It's obvious the coaches know they have to get him the talent, if you want to fire him over that fine, but he's done well with that talent. You want to fire him over not playing ulofoshio? Fine, he would probably admit he fucked up there. But manu and Wellington were beyond anyone's help.

He sucks at recruiting and last year was bad. Every other year was fine. He’s a pretty good coach. I don’t care if he was fired, but I don’t think we are fucked with him either.
