CNN Admits Defeat - front page story

Props to them for their, albeit, passive aggressive coverage of this story on their front page:

"A month after reopening, Georgia coronavirus cases continue slow and steady"
https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/26/us/georgia-coronavirus/index.html

Some health experts worried that the reopening, combined with the state's limited testing capability, could lead to an increase in cases that could overwhelm hospitals, such as happened in Albany, Georgia, in the early days of the pandemic.
So far, that fear has not been borne out. The preliminary data suggests that reopening has not led to a spike in cases -- but the virus has continued to steadily infect people and shows no signs of waning.

I’m going out on a limb here but maybe nursing home patients didn’t hit the beach this weekend

I predict like all dem strategies over the past 4 years, that this strategy of theirs will fail in spectacular fashion.

virus has continued to steadily infect people and shows no signs of waning.

Any chance that this "steady" infection has to do with more people being tested? And by every meaning of the word the virus is "waning" fuck off CNN

Yep. Every single one is so shortsighted and they are continually amazed it blows up in their face.

Dem governors banding together to keep their states shut down is what we call a "clue".

By no meaning of the word is the virus "waning" in Georgia. It's not spiking either . . . yet . . . as best we can tell.

April 22 was their peak number of daily infections - 945

Today they had 26. Fuck off Dazzler. Infections, despite increased testing has gone from 945 to 26 but in the land of lying worthless Kunt's the virus isn't "waning."

"Waning" is Rnaught below one. The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a running tally of calculated Rnaughts by day. Only very recently has the number ever been below one--and only briefly and by a few hundreths of a point on those occasions. And even recently, the Rnaught has been more above one than below it.

And I don't know where you got 26 new infections. Georgia reported 583 new cases and 47 deaths just today.

Is it possible you meant to say, “Today is the 26th.”?

    583 > 26, or so I’m told.

My conspiracy theory is alive and well. Antibody tests being discredited by the CDC and CNN.

“Thanks to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, we now know things did indeed look too good to be true. Georgia’s coronavirus numbers looked so rosy because officials misrepresented the data in such a way it's difficult to believe it wasn't done on purpose.”

Daddy says Georgia opened too soon. But Michigan should be liberated! I can sense your confusion.

The truth is that in GA the deaths are way down. The amount of testing for the virus has increased dramatically which is skewing the graphs back up even though we are way below our highs. What Bob was referencing is the running daily total from yesterday. When he pulled up the graph that is what was reported at that time. I know because I looked it up when I read the post.

The numbers you are referencing are a running 7 day average of confirmed cases and again those numbers are up because of more testing. I have been cautiously optimistic that we did the right thing. For my friends who are small business owners we absolutely did the right thing. As of right now, people can post all the yahoo and CNN articles they want that are attempting to make the GA Gov decision to open up a month ago look bad but the results and the trends speak for themselves. So far the decision has been a winner. If I was in OR with only 150 deaths and low transmission rates I would be extremely upset with my Governor and the damage that has been done to the economy.

Its just not that hard to look at the numbers and see what's happening is actually good news- unless you're a dem and this is your last hope to win the White house in 2020. Driving around town this weekend we saw a number of drive thru test sites. Numbers of positives went up you say? Gosh, why?
