The dumbest thing was that we were always recruiting those players. We always were going to come in third or fourth for their signature.

I put no credence in kids telling coaches they want to come to a certain school. The coaches press the kids into saying that shit. It's tough for a 17 year old to stand up to grown adults who are well versed in sales. The kid eventually goes where he wants and avoids the coaches bothering him, take Myles Jack for example.
