Each year millions of Americans die (I know, that is a deep state secret, but WTF) and are replaced by Karen's and beta males. Look at how our media and leftards are responding to the chicom crud. Hell, the leftard in tennis shoes will probably give them some credit for building day care centers. True believers.

Back in my proxy fight days, public companies did a lot of proxy fights with the unions. Not quite institutional capital but more than retail investors. When Vanguard and TRowe call, you pick up the fucking phone. When some dipshit with $20,000 of your stock calls, you send him to IR to let him vent and feel important.

In the middle were the unions. They'd have a few hundred thousand shares of XYZ corp in their pension portfolio but were very, very activist and were always pushing for something. Sometimes they'd forget who they were and push for a board seat.

The unions were a pain in the ass, but at least there was some legitimate financial interest.

Then there were the loons who borrowed the minimal number of shares necessary to get their proposals into the annual meeting proxy. These guys were ENTIRELY mission driven and didn't give two shits about the investment. Very hard people to reason with.

The democratic party was taken over by those people.

And if you're not careful, the very same thing will happen to the Republican party. Those people ... the true believers. They come in all stripes my friend. All stripes. And there is nothing you can do or say to a true believer when he or she is convinced of their righteousness. The Tug likes to think "but leftists"; but there are other kinds of loons.

He died of of an aneurism Sept 1 1983, shortly after KAL flight 007 was shot down by the Soviets.

The Soviets claimed it was on a spy mission. I was in college at the UW by then, and the news seemed rather surreal.

I've always been curious to know the full story about KAL 007, and if Henry's inside knowledge contributed to stress which in turn contributed to the aneurism.
