Because we are clearly on the downward slope. I’m thinking 1985 or 1986 . Peace and prosperity. Economy doing well. Leftists hadn't yet realized racial issues needed to be re stoked. The Carter gloom was lifted. The american dream was alive and well with 18-25 year olds. You could still smoke on airplanes.

Now it’s hide in your basement, hammer a government check, and don’t come out until a generic lawyer tells you to.
