I’ve noticed some goalpost moving on the covid tracking websites. Nytimes page https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html had been doing states and counties by gradient showing velocity of new cases. Last week every state was in the lowest gradient color implying it was over. Then all a sudden this week it’s reset to orange/middle.
I’m surprised I’m not surprised
Nobody wants to let this crisis go, especially media outlets and governors having a power boner for the first time. -

There's a strange emotional attachment to this. Ironically, a Stockholm Syndrome if you will.
